Chains and Categories

A POI can belong to both a POI Chain and POI Categories, which facilitate browsing POIs as well as creating POI-based segments.

Chains

A POI Chain is a group of POIs. This could be used to represent a franchise, such as McDonald's, and is made available to allow users to more easily select many POIs at once. For example, in constructing a POI-based segment, it would be tedious to specify hundreds of POI IDs manually if a user was interested in segmenting the audience at any franchise location.

A POI can belong to either 0 or 1 POI Chains.

Categories

A POI Category is a class of POI, such as "Veterinarian" or "Restaurant". The vast majority of POIs have at least 1 POI Category, but it is not strictly required. A POI can be part of up to three different POI categories, but this is rare.
