Getting Started

Welcome to the Mira documentation. The purpose of this site is to detail the technical concepts of the Mira platform; document use cases for the Mira Console; and provide documentation and examples for consuming the Mira REST API.

What is Mira?

Mira is a location intelligence platform purpose-built for out of home (OOH) media. By processing more than 9 billion mobile location events per day, our platform can filter, aggregate, and measure digital and mobile audiences in arbitrary geographical locations. We use this to help customers plan better campaigns using digital audiences, optimize campaigns in real-time, and measure the performance of campaigns across various KPIs.

Reveal + Mira

In 2021, Mira was acquired by Reveal Mobile . In most cases, we still use Mira to refer to the OOH measurement business, e.g. the "Mira Console"

Target Audience

This documentation is geared towards

• users of the Mira Console
• technical users and developers consuming from and integrating our API directly
• customers using Mira as a managed service
• demand- and supply-side operators that leverage our platform and resell services to their own clients

Guide Structure

The documentation is organised into five sections. Which one you want depends on whether you are trying to understand what Mira measures, or to operate the platform that measures it.

• Overview - this section. Authentication, API conventions, and the terms of use that apply across the platform.
• Methodology - how OOH measurement works: determining exposure, building a control group, measuring lift, and reading the result. Start here if you want to understand what a Mira number means before producing one.
• Using the Mira Console - operating the platform. Setting up campaigns, loading media data, configuring what gets measured, and reading the reports that come out.
• Data Management Platform - building and managing audience segments.
• Misc - supporting reference material, including geographic concepts and data-sharing policies.

Alongside the guides, the API Reference documents every endpoint for developers integrating directly.

Two Ways In

The Methodology and Console sections answer different questions about the same product, and most readers need both. Methodology explains why a study is built the way it is; the Console guides explain where to click. Each links to the other wherever the two meet.
