Conversion Properties

A Conversion Property is a scoped source of conversion event data - the thing you are measuring conversion to. Every measurement Study needs at least one.

There are three types, and which you use is determined by where the conversion happens rather than by preference:

  • Web Properties track actions on a website, using pixels placed on the pages that matter.
  • SDK Properties track actions inside a mobile app, using postbacks from your analytics SDK.
  • Footfall Properties track visits to physical locations, using Mira's own location data.

Within a Property, individual actions are goals - a pixel on a web property, an SDK event on an app property. Goals are the level at which conversion is reported, so how you name and structure them determines what your reporting looks like.

Two of the Three Need Setting Up Before the Campaign

Web and app conversion data only exists from the moment a pixel or postback goes live; there is no way to recover it retroactively. Footfall is the exception - it runs on always-on location data and can be configured after a campaign has finished. See Conversion Properties for the timing implications.

Once a Property is live, Understanding Goal Health shows whether its goals are actually receiving data - which is the check worth doing early, rather than discovering a silent pixel at the end of a flight.
